As a result of the technological revolution taking place in the world, and the spread of social media, the right to privacy and confidentiality of patients was violated, and accordingly we tried through this study to present everything related to the use of (blockchain) in health care, and the benefits that this technology brings to the health field, especially its role in balancing between The patient's right to obtain medical information, and the right to privacy and confidentiality of medical information.
Since the patient’s right to obtain medical information, and his right to privacy and confidentiality of this information, are among the constitutional and fundamental rights of the human being, and we have concluded that the “blockchain” technology can serve the health care sector, protect these basic rights, and solve many issues; Such as creating a common database of health information, which enables health service providers to access this data in a secure manner, regardless of the electronic medical system used.
Accordingly, we concluded an appeal to the Egyptian legislator to keep pace with the development of comparative legislation on the subject of medical secrets, and to put in place a law dedicating the electronic system that is used in developed countries to preserve patients’ secrets, especially the (blockchain) technology. The goal is to build a system that enables people to access their health records, their doctor, and other health services remotely from anywhere in the world in a secure manner.
